Community Hope, Inc. Receives Grant from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey to support its Hope for Veterans Program

February 10, 2025

Funding will help Community Hope provide additional assistance to the veterans who live in the facility

The Healthcare Foundation of NJParsippany, NJ – Community Hope, Inc., a local non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with mental illness and homeless veterans, has received a $99,000 grant from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey.

The grant will help Community Hope sustain the position of an Assistant Program Coordinator at its Hope for Veterans Program, a 95-bed facility serving homeless New Jersey veterans. The Program is located on the Lyons VA Campus in Somerset County, New Jersey. The Assistant Program Coordinator serves the veterans in the Program in a multitude of ways, including incorporating more wellness classes into the daily activities of the Program.

Having the Assistant Program Coordinator on staff has lifted some of the burden off the shoulders of the other staff in the Program. As the census in the Hope for Veterans Program has continued to increase, there has been even more need for the position. In addition to leading classes, the Assistant Program Coordinator has other duties in the facility, such as overseeing the Behavioral Health Counselors in the Program.

“Community Hope is so grateful to the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey for providing the award to sustain the position of the Assistant Program Coordinator at the Hope for Veterans Program,” says Carmine V. Deo, MBA, MSW, LCSW, Chief Executive Officer of Community Hope. “We appreciate the Foundation’s support as we retain this key position in the Program.”
