Community Hope, Inc. is a Recipient of a Grant By The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey
Funding will support the Assistant Program Coordinator position at the Hope for Veterans Program
Parsippany, New Jersey – Community Hope, Inc., a New Jersey nonprofit serving individuals with mental illness and homeless veterans, has received a $101,243 grant from The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey.
The grant will be used in Community Hope’s Hope for Veterans Program. This 95-bed facility supports homeless New Jersey veterans through its provision of shelter and wraparound services to help these veterans get back on their feet and reintegrate themselves into their communities. In particular, the grant will help the organization to retain the position of an Assistant Program Coordinator at the Hope for Veterans Program.
The Assistant Program Coordinator helps the Program in many ways. She runs wellness groups for veterans in the Program – such as groups on managing stress and healthy habits. She also oversees the Behavioral Health Counselors in the Program, conducts random room inspections, and provides case management services as necessary. With a high census in the Hope for Veterans Program, the Assistant Program Coordinator is needed more than ever.
“Community Hope thanks The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey for their generous grant to support the Assistant Program Coordinator position at the Hope for Veterans Program,” says Carmine Deo, MBA, MSW, LCSW, Chief Executive Officer of Community Hope. “This will allow us to better serve the veterans who call the Program their temporary home.”
“The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey has a long and proud history of supporting our veterans. This program will provide critical case management support so that veterans can receive necessary medical and mental health care—and be monitored closely to ensure continuity
of services….” said Michael Schmidt, Executive Director and CEO of The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey.
